Last surviving eight-sailed windmill restored
Following a £1.5 million regeneration project, Heckington Windmill has been restored and its historic buildings enhanced for future generations. The scheme by Cowper Griffith Architects maintains the historic character of this grade I listed structure, first built in the 1830s. The granary, cart shed and garage have been converted into a brand new visitor centre, the bakehouse is now a fully working kitchen and baking school, and the windmill’s eight sails are operational once more.
