2016 Thremhall Park Consent

June 12, 2016

In June 2016 CGA was delighted to secure Planning & Listed Building Consents at first time of asking for four new buildings at Thremhall Park, near Stansted. The buildings augment an existing ‘serviced office’ complex, and provide around 20,000 sq ft of new accommodation.

In addition to the conventional office space we have designed a striking ‘modern orangery’, which sits on the edge of an historic walled garden and relates to the retained Georgian facades of earlier phases of work.

The site presented a number of challenges; heritage, loss of Listed fabric, effective masterplanning, arboriculture, archaeology and ecology. Superb support on the planning side was provided by Clare Hutchinson of Sworders, based in Ware.
